There are different types of Architecture used in Enterprises. Many people assume they are all IT centric, but that is a misunderstanding born from where Architecture has been used in the past. Here we explain where various Architectures fit, an understanding of where they came from, how they came into being and therefore why they are important.

We start with an indication of a project, which in addition to Business Process and other components, utilises Data, an Application and Technology (Infrastructure). Initially Data, Applications and Technology were simple. However, over time Data, Applications and Technology increased in complexity and volatility.
